UIC Center for Student Success Initiatives
This office provides essential supports for the project management of all new and ongoing projects related to improving retention and graduation rates. We facilitate the success of the projects through development of workplans, assistance in assessment, and monitoring of the alignment of project steps for achieving the project outcomes. We provide updates on the achievements of the various projects to the campus through this website.
The office is the home of UIC’s Transition Coaching Initiative, which partners with a variety of external partners to connect students to the UIC support services just when they need them. We also administer a referral resource for students and instructors and serve as a liaison to the UIC Experience and a variety of co-curricular programs.
The Office for Advising Development (OAD) aims to promote and contribute to student success by providing resources for advisors, including professional development and campus-wide and universal baseline training of advisors. We organize a major summit meeting for advisors each semester, as well as a series of workshops and webinars. We recommend campus advising policies and maintain a comprehensive database of campus resources available to students. We also administer the campus Early Alert program.
